Position Summary
The Lead Analyst will be responsible for designing presentations for internal and external stakeholders and performing research and analysis to support strategic decision making. They will also oversee and ensure the advance rate setting process is completed timely and accurately. In addition, the Lead Analyst will serve as a subject matter expert for system upgrades, business continuity planning, and risk assessments.
Primary Success Factors
Designs and creates materials presented to the Board and Bank committees, and strategic management discussions
Performs ad hoc analysis of capital market conditions, industry trends and regulatory developments
Ensures the advance rate setting is performed in accordance with required policies, procedures and the Bank’s control environment and completed within prescribed timeframes
Observes funding and hedging activities and cross trains where appropriate
Utilizing Tableau and CDR produces reports to support the Capital Markets strategic decision-making process. These include routine and ad hoc reporting on the Bank’s liquidity, funding, hedging and investment portfolios
Performs testing for system enhancements and upgrades
Works with management to evaluate and recommend new or improved processes to efficiently and accurately perform analysis and reporting
Assists with departmental risk assessments, EUC and business continuity planning activities
Maintains contact and fosters effective relationships with the Centralized Operational Resources, Risk Management, Members Services and Finance departments to ensure the free flow of important information among the various departments. Utilize these relationships to develop a greater understanding of balance sheet risk management, member products and financial reporting
Ensures compliance with applicable policies, procedures and regulations to ensure safe and sound business operations
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, mathematics, accounting or equivalent experience.
5 or more years of experience in capital markets, risk management, finance or equivalent.
Knowledge of Bank’s customers, business, products and strategic goals
Experience with Tableau Desktop developing and modifying dashboards and reports
Strong analytical, quantitative and problem resolution skills
Basic project management skills
Strong internal control orientation
Basic understanding of fixed income concepts and economic factors that influence capital markets. Familiarity with derivatives and financial modeling is a plus
Understanding of bank balance sheets and interrelationships among components of bank balance sheets, risk management, and risk management techniques
Experience utilizing Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Bloomberg and Tableau
Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in business, economics, mathematics, accounting or equivalent experience and at least 3 years of experience in capital markets, risk management, finance or equivalent may be considered for a lower level Analyst position.
