Investor Relations works closely with executive management to drive the firm’s external engagement with equity and fixed income investors, research analysts, rating agencies, credit counterparties, and sustainability and governance-focused stakeholders. Investor Relations also serves as a key contributor alongside internal constituents on competitive intelligence, communications and strategic planning, capital and resource management, and broader firmwide initiatives.
RESPONBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
- This Senior Analyst role offers a unique opportunity to build deep financial, valuation, markets, and communication skills while gaining exposure to the firm’s senior leadership and external stakeholders. The role sits at the center of the firm’s external messaging process and requires strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, executive-ready materials
- The Senior Analyst will support the team’s daily execution across investor engagement, quarterly earnings, competitive intelligence, rating agency coverage, corporate governance, and recurring management reporting. Work may include developing financial analysis, preparing senior leadership for investor meetings and public events, monitoring peer and market developments, maintaining investor targeting and ownership materials, and helping produce regular deliverables for the Management Committee and other senior stakeholders
Role Summary and Key Responsibilities
Equity and Fixed Income Investor Relations
- Support the firm’s quarterly earnings process, including consensus tracking, financial model updates, peer analysis, presentation materials, Q&A preparation, and post-earnings investor feedback
- Help prepare senior management for investor conferences, roadshows, 1x1 meetings, rating agency discussions, and other external engagements
- Develop and maintain investor briefing materials, ownership analyses, targeting lists, and engagement trackers for top active holders, prospective investors, and key external stakeholders
- Analyze Goldman Sachs’ valuation, performance, capital position, balance sheet metrics, business mix, and strategic positioning relative to peers
- Monitor investor and analyst feedback to identify recurring themes, questions, and areas of focus for senior management
- Partner with teams across the firm, including Finance, Treasury, Corporate Planning, Legal, Compliance, GBM, AWM, and Executive Office colleagues, to ensure consistent and accurate external messaging
Competitive Intelligence and Market Monitoring
- Track peer earnings, investor days, conference presentations, research notes, regulatory developments, market data, and industry trends relevant to Goldman Sachs and the broader financial services sector
- Contribute to daily, weekly, ad hoc, and peer earnings deliverables used by senior management and internal stakeholders
- Synthesize market and peer developments into concise takeaways, charts, dashboards, and briefing materials
- Help maintain and improve team processes for competitive intelligence, including repeatable templates, searchable resources, and AI-enabled monitoring workflows
- Identify emerging external themes that may inform investor messaging, management preparation, or internal strategic discussions
Rating Agencies and Fixed Income Stakeholders
- Support ongoing engagement with rating agencies, fixed income investors, and credit analysts
- Prepare materials for rating agency meetings, quarterly updates, methodology reviews, and credit focused investor discussions
- Analyze Goldman Sachs’ credit profile, capital and liquidity position, funding strategy, risk management framework, and peer positioning
- Monitor rating agency publications, market-based credit indicators, and industry-wide ratings trends
- Coordinate with Treasury, Finance, Risk, Legal, and business teams to support timely and accurate responses to rating agency and fixed income investor inquiries
Corporate Governance and Sustainability
- Support engagement with shareholders, proxy advisors, governance teams, and other external stakeholders on corporate governance, executive compensation, sustainability, and disclosure related topics
- Help prepare materials for off-season shareholder engagement, annual meeting preparation, investor Q&A, and Board-level governance discussions
- Monitor investor views, proxy advisor policy updates, peer disclosures, and emerging governance and sustainability trends
- Draft presentations, talking points, and analyses that synthesize investor feedback and support consistent external messaging
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, 1-3 years’ experience in banking, finance / Controllers, markets, treasury, research or risk
- Investment Banking experience and experience in capital markets and / or financial institutions a plus
- Strong interest in Goldman Sachs, the financial services industry, public company communications, and investor engagement
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear, concise recommendations
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; familiarity with Bloomberg, Visible Alpha, Nasdaq IR Insight, FactSet, S&P Capital IQ, or similar platforms is helpful
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Strong analytical judgment and comfort working with financial statements, valuation frameworks, market data, ownership data, and research commentary
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, discretion, and a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality
- Experience using AI or automation tools to improve research, workflow management, data synthesis, or content drafting is helpful but not required
