Multifamily Capital Markets is seeking an exceptionally curious, analytical, and driven professional to help identify, prioritize, and deliver the initiatives that can most improve the business. This is a rare opportunity to develop a broad view across the Multifamily Capital Markets organization, including loan pricing, pipeline risk management, portfolio management, securitization, credit-risk transfer, operations, and technology.
You will work directly with a Capital Markets leader who brings deep Multifamily expertise, extensive Wall Street markets and product experience, and a track record of developing innovative solutions to complex financial problems.
Together, you will examine how the business operates, identify its highest-impact opportunities, challenge existing assumptions, and develop solutions from first principles.
This is a hands-on role combining original problem-solving, quantitative analysis, and end-to-end initiative delivery. You will research unfamiliar topics; analyze financial, market, and operational data; build analytical models and lightweight Python prototypes; test hypotheses; frame business questions; and develop fact-based recommendations. You will write the memos and presentations that move decisions forward, document conclusions and requirements, coordinate contributors, maintain project plans and follow-ups, and drive multiple initiatives through organizational and technical roadblocks from initial idea through implementation.
The successful candidate will be expected to operate with substantial independence and combine analytical depth with exceptional conscientiousness and execution discipline. The role requires someone who takes ownership, maintains momentum across multiple complex initiatives, pursues unresolved issues, and keeps driving until decisions are made and outcomes are delivered.
Multifamily Capital Markets sits at the intersection of markets, products, risk, capital, and the economics of the Multifamily business. The department prices loans, manages pipeline and portfolio exposures, accesses the capital markets through securitization and credit-risk transfer, and manages retained investments.
The Strategy and Priorities function takes a department-wide view. We identify the questions and opportunities with the greatest potential impact, develop a clear view of the economics and trade-offs, and work across functions to help turn the best ideas into durable business improvements.
This role will help department leadership:
Help identify the opportunities and problems with the greatest potential impact on the business.
Create an integrated view across products, risks, economics, and Capital Markets functions.
Improve transparency into business performance, risk, and management trade-offs.
Move promising ideas from concept through implementation.
Ensure important initiatives have clear ownership, decisions, and follow-through.
In this role, you will:
Help leadership prioritize initiatives based on business value, urgency, complexity, and resource requirements.
Turn broad ideas and unresolved business issues into defined objectives, analyses, workstreams, and decisions.
Examine problems from first principles, test assumptions, and develop fact-based recommendations.
Coordinate work across Capital Markets teams and partners in Finance, Risk, Operations, Technology, and other parts of the company.
Establish owners, milestones, dependencies, and decision points; anticipate roadblocks; pursue open items; and keep initiatives moving toward resolution.
Gather and reconcile information, analyze financial, market, and operational data, build quantitative models, and identify gaps or conflicting conclusions.
Write concise, decision-ready memos and presentations that explain the issue, analysis, alternatives, economics, recommendation, and required actions.
Translate agreed-upon approaches into clear business requirements and implementation plans.
Remain engaged through delivery while ensuring that the appropriate business or operating function owns the resulting capability.
Develop analyses and Python prototypes when useful to test an idea, demonstrate an approach, or clarify business and technical requirements.
The candidate will be expected to frame issues independently, work directly with senior leaders and subject-matter experts, resolve cross-functional obstacles, and maintain ownership and momentum across multiple complex initiatives with limited direction.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
8 - 10 years of experience in capital markets, financial services, portfolio management, securitization, quantitative analysis, business analysis, product development, or initiative delivery.
Familiarity with fixed income, mortgages, derivatives, hedging, credit-risk transfer, or asset-liability management.
Demonstrated ability to analyze data and working proficiency with Python, SQL, Excel, or other analytical tools.
Demonstrated conscientiousness, ownership, and follow-through while managing several concurrent projects.
Understanding of P&L, financial analysis, market-risk measurement, capital allocation, or financial reporting.
