Position Summary
The Investor Relations Associate will support Redwood Trust's investor relations strategy by serving as a key liaison between the company and the investment community. This role will assist with investor communications, earnings preparation, market intelligence, and shareholder engagement initiatives. In addition, the role will support select public relations and external communications efforts that enhance Redwood Trust's visibility with investors, media, and other key stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of investor relations experience, preferably with a background in sell-side equity research or capital markets, and possess strong financial analysis, communication, and relationship management skills.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Support the execution of Redwood Trust's investor relations strategy and day-to-day investor communications.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly earnings materials, including presentations, scripts, Q&A documents, and supporting analyses.
- Coordinate investor meetings, conferences, roadshows, and non-deal roadshows.
- Maintain relationships with existing and prospective institutional investors and sell-side analysts.
- Monitor analyst research, market trends, peer performance, and investor sentiment, providing regular updates to senior leadership.
- Prepare reports and presentations for executive leadership and the Board of Directors regarding shareholder activity and market developments.
- Maintain the investor relations calendar and coordinate logistics for earnings calls and investor events.
- Support the preparation of investor-facing materials, including presentations, fact sheets, and website content.
- Partner with the Marketing team to support external communications and media outreach related to key corporate events, including earnings announcements, significant stock price activity, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, and other material business developments.
- Assist in coordinating with external publications, financial media outlets, and industry organizations to help ensure consistent and effective communication of the company's strategy, performance, and key initiatives.
- Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Accounting, Marketing, and Executive Leadership to ensure accurate, timely, and consistent external communications.
- Assist in responding to investor inquiries while maintaining compliance with SEC regulations and disclosure requirements.
- Maintain investor databases, shareholder records, and CRM systems.
- Support special projects related to capital markets, investor outreach, and strategic communications as assigned.
Required Experience, Skills, & Competencies
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in Investor Relations, Equity Research, Investment Banking, or Capital Markets.
- Sell-side equity research experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation methodologies, and public company reporting.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to synthesize complex financial information into clear and compelling investor communications.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
- Experience interacting with media, public relations teams, or external communications partners is a plus.
- Familiarity with SEC disclosure requirements and public company investor communications is preferred.
A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this role is $125,000-$155,000. The actual salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, geographic location, training, licensure and certification, and other factors.
