We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Analyst.

The Liability Management (LM") team is a function within Debt Capital Markets (DCM") that specialises in advising and executing tender offers, exchange offers and consent solicitations on outstanding, secondary market bonds and debt. Clients / issuers we work with are corporates and financial institutions, as well as sovereigns.

The LM team has 9 people globally, 5 in New York, 3 in London, 1 in Hong Kong. We are seeking an Analyst in the Hong Kong-based team to join on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Supporting senior members of the LM team. The candidate will be responsible for preparing comprehensive client materials, including financial analysis and Liability Management models. These materials will support recommendations on LM strategies for both prospective and existing clients.
• Assist in the preparation and execution of LM transactions, including analysis of tender offers, exchange offers, and consent solicitations, with a focus on modelling outcomes and supporting documentation
• Actively collaborate with internal stakeholders (Coverage, DCM, Syndicate, Legal, and back office) to deliver holistic advice and origination
• Manage the day-to-day execution process of transactions under the supervision of a senior team member
• Build and maintain financial models and live databases; conduct cash flow modelling and bond economics including NPV analysis.

Requirements

• DCM experience (whether DCM origination, syndication or LM) useful. The role involves LM pitching and execution.
• Strong bond maths and valuation understanding along with detailed Excel models and Bloomberg Excel add-ins.
• Demonstrated proficiency in numerical skills.
• Skill in reading and commenting of legal offer documentation.
• Powerpoint / pitch production for DCM and LM products.
• Languages: English primarily and for virtually all pitches. Other Asian languages would be useful though not critical.
• Presentation skills: ability to deliver pitches on complex matter in succinct and presentable manner to clients once proficiency in the field has been attained.
• Efficient working processes and time-management. The team has a relatively flat structure that encourages all members to be proficient in producing material given number of people, number of simultaneous projects and holidays / staffing.
• Aside from working well with the LM team globally, will also need to build links, learn and work well with the other members within Global Financing Solutions (including Capital Solutions and Rating Advisory), and Debt Capital Markets.
