PRP Real Assets (“PRP”) is a Washington, DC-based private real estate investment management firm founded in 2005. PRP focuses on the fundamentals of real estate investing, pairing disciplined acquisitions with hands-on asset management and operational improvement. Since inception, PRP has completed 50+ investments totaling more than $6 billion in aggregate size across 22 U.S. markets, through discretionary commingled funds, separate accounts and joint ventures. Today, the firm operates across three key verticals: high-quality multifamily, mission-critical assets, and thematic special situations.
PRP is seeking a dedicated Investor Relations / Capital Formation professional to support the continued build-out and execution of PRP's capital formation efforts.
This individual will report to and work closely with the Head of Capital Formation and serve as a key execution resource across investor research, CRM and pipeline management, targeted investor outreach, meeting preparation and follow-up, conference execution, and reporting.
The ideal candidate will combine institutional fundraising/IR experience with exceptional operating skills. This is not a senior relationship-oriented fundraising role or a traditional project-management role. Rather, we are looking for an IR professional who understands institutional capital raising and can ensure that the research, infrastructure, execution and follow-through supporting our fundraising efforts operate at a high level.
Title and seniority will be commensurate with the candidate's experience.
· Conduct detailed research on institutional LPs, consultants, intermediaries and prospective sources of capital.
· Identify and verify appropriate decision-makers and contacts within target institutions.
· Research allocations, mandates, recent commitments, manager relationships, consultants and other information relevant to assessing potential fit with PRP.
· Validate information across multiple sources, including institutional websites, board and investment committee materials/minutes, LinkedIn, industry publications, Preqin, Dakota and other databases.
· Research connections and potential paths into target institutions.
· Translate research into actionable investor intelligence and maintain relevant information in Backstop.
· Take primary responsibility for the integrity and day-to-day management of Backstop for Capital Formation.
· Maintain accurate investor, consultant, intermediary and prospect information, updating records as appropriate.
· Track outreach, meetings, pipeline status, tasks, follow-ups and investor activity.
· Support targeted investor outreach using established messaging and templates with direction and oversight from the Head of Capital Formation.
· Prepare and customize outreach based on investor type, strategy, conference and other relevant factors.
· Track responses and ensure appropriate follow-up and next steps are completed.
· Help develop processes and reporting that make the CRM a reliable system of record for Capital Formation.
· Prepare concise investor meeting briefs incorporating institutional research, relevant investment activity, prior interactions, key contacts and other useful intelligence.
· Organize and track actionable follow-up items following investor meetings.
· Maintain tasks and ensure agreed next steps are completed by the appropriate internal owner.
· Coordinate investor diligence processes, including DDQs, RFPs and other investor information requests, working with appropriate internal teams to develop and maintain the responses.
· Maintain and continuously update the underlying DDQ / RFP database library, ensuring information is current, accurate and readily accessible for future investor requests.
· Coordinate routine investor requests, including materials and data-room access.
· Maintain visibility into outstanding investor deliverables and proactively flag items requiring attention.
· Research and maintain the universe of relevant institutional investment and real estate conferences.
· Obtain and analyze attendee lists, identify affiliations and roles, and convert attendee information into prioritized prospect lists.
· Support conference outreach, registration, scheduling and related logistics.
· Ensure conference meetings, outreach and follow-up are appropriately tracked.
· Prepare information for weekly Capital Formation meetings, including recent and upcoming investor meetings, pipeline changes, outreach activity, outstanding tasks and follow-ups.
· Maintain clean and useful Excel analyses, prospect lists, meeting schedules and pipeline reports.
· Develop repeatable processes that improve the efficiency and scalability of the Capital Formation function.
· Proactively identify gaps or inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
The ideal candidate will be:
· Exceptionally detail-oriented and accurate.
· Calm, methodical and effective in a fast-moving environment.
· Proactive and anticipatory, without sacrificing accuracy.
· Intellectually curious and an excellent researcher.
· Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
· Comfortable with sophisticated CRM/database systems; Backstop experience is a plus.
· An excellent written communicator with the polish to interact directly with institutional investors and consultants, if needed.
· Comfortable with both substantive analytical work and detailed execution.
· Low-ego, collaborative and highly accountable.
· Able to work independently, anticipate needs and create structure rather than simply follow instructions.
5–12 years of relevant experience.
Strong preference for experience in Investor Relations / Capital Formation within institutional real estate or private markets, particularly in a role supporting the execution and operations of a fundraising effort.
Relevant backgrounds could also include a placement agent/private-capital advisory firm, institutional investment consultant, or another investment-management environment with significant institutional investor exposure.
Experience supporting a senior capital-raising professional would be particularly attractive. An existing network among institutional LPs, consultants and intermediaries is a plus but is not required.
This role is based in Washington, DC and is in-office.
The anticipated compensation range for this role is $150,000 – $350,000, depending on experience and level.
