About the Opportunity
Solaris is looking for a Corporate Affairs & Communications Officer is a critical member of the executive leadership team, reporting directly to the Co-CEOs. The role sits at the intersection of business strategy, investor confidence, public policy, reputation management, stakeholder engagement, and crisis leadership.
This position is responsible for protecting and enhancing the Company's story while enabling growth. In a dynamic, highly charged market environment, this individual ensures that regulators, investors, customers, employees, communities, media, and policymakers understand and support the Company's strategy and value proposition.
Essential Functions
Business Strategy
- Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to the CEOs and executive leadership team, ensuring communications, policy, and reputational considerations are embedded in major business decisions.
- Translate corporate strategy into a compelling, consistent narrative that aligns internal and external audiences around the Company's value proposition and growth agenda.
Reputation & Crisis Leadership
- Own the Company's reputation management strategy, including proactive issue identification and reputational risk mitigation.
- Lead crisis communications and issues management, serving as the senior executive responsible for coordinating the Company's response to operational incidents, litigation, regulatory actions, or other high-stakes events.
- Build and maintain a crisis-readiness capability, including response protocols, spokesperson training, and cross-functional response teams.
Marketing
- Lead the Company’s marketing efforts by partnering closely with Commercial and Investor Relations to ensure the Company's strategy, performance, and growth story are clearly and credibly communicated to the market and investment community.
- Lead internal communications where messaging is impactful to the Company’s culture.
- Support earnings communications, capital markets events, and customer events ensuring alignment between the financial narrative and broader corporate messaging.
Experience/Education
- 15 years of progressive experience in corporate communications, public affairs, investor relations, or a related field, including senior leadership roles reporting to a CEO.
- Proven track record leading high-stakes crisis communications and issues management.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and executive presence; ability to serve as a credible public and media spokesperson.
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in a related field (communications, public policy, business, or law) preferred.
- Strategic, business-minded thinker who connects communications and policy to enterprise value.
- Sound judgment and composure under pressure; a trusted counsel in high-stakes, ambiguous situations.
- Strong relationship-builder across diverse stakeholder groups, including regulators, investors, media, and community leaders.
- High integrity and discretion; a steady hand who protects the Company's credibility.
- Collaborative leader who works effectively across functions and builds trust with peers.
