The Director, Investor Relations & Communications will lead the development and execution of strategic communications that shape company positioning, investor engagement, and external visibility.
This role plays a critical part in building trust with investors, analysts, media, and key stakeholders through clear, accurate, and compelling storytelling.
The position combines investor relations expertise, corporate communications, and strategic planning within an innovative life sciences environment.

Accountabilities:
The Director, Investor Relations & Communications is responsible for leading corporate communications strategy, managing investor relationships, and ensuring consistent external messaging across all channels. This role requires strong knowledge of life sciences markets, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving, high-impact environment.
- Develop and execute comprehensive investor relations strategies, including engagement plans, communication calendars, outreach initiatives, and relationship management programs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for investors, analysts, media representatives, and other external stakeholders.
- Build and maintain investor-facing materials, including presentations, fact sheets, financing communications, press releases, and executive briefing documents.
- Lead messaging strategies for key business milestones, including clinical updates, regulatory developments, financing activities, partnerships, and commercial progress.
- Manage corporate communication channels, ensuring accurate, compliant, and consistent messaging across websites, social platforms, and external communications.
- Coordinate investor meetings, conferences, roadshows, and industry events to strengthen visibility and stakeholder engagement.
- Monitor investor sentiment, market trends, competitive activity, and peer communications to provide strategic insights to leadership.
- Partner with Finance, Clinical, Regulatory, Legal, Corporate Operations, and other teams to ensure alignment and accuracy in public disclosures.
- Prepare executives for investor discussions, presentations, media engagements, and industry events through tailored messaging and coaching.
- Establish recurring investor communication processes, including updates, reporting cycles, and stakeholder engagement workflows.
- Manage relationships with external communications and investor relations agencies to support strategic initiatives and reputation management.
- Support internal communications efforts to ensure consistency between organizational priorities and external messaging.
- Contribute to Board materials, corporate reporting, and strategic communication initiatives.
- Support pre-commercial positioning efforts through participation in scientific conferences, trade events, and investor-focused activities.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive business, financial, and strategic information.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will bring extensive investor relations and corporate communications experience within biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or related life sciences sectors. Success in this role requires strategic thinking, strong storytelling abilities, and the ability to communicate complex scientific and financial concepts to diverse audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree such as MBA, MS, or equivalent in life sciences, finance, communications, or a related field strongly preferred.
- 8–12 years of experience in investor relations, corporate communications, strategic finance, or related functions within biotech, pharma, healthcare, or medical technology.
- Proven experience developing and executing investor relations strategies and managing relationships with buy-side and sell-side stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of pre-commercial biotechnology environments, capital markets, clinical development milestones, and regulatory communications.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to transform complex scientific and financial information into clear, engaging narratives.
- Experience supporting investor communications for early-stage or growth-stage life sciences organizations.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Clinical, Regulatory, Legal, Finance, and executive leadership teams.
- Strong judgment, discretion, and professionalism when managing confidential information.
- Comfortable representing an organization publicly through investor meetings, industry events, and external communications.
- Experience managing PR/IR agencies and coordinating cross-channel communication initiatives.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience in orthopedic, medical device, or related healthcare markets.
- Familiarity with SEC regulations and disclosure requirements relevant to biotech companies.
- Experience supporting financing rounds, IPO preparation, strategic partnerships, or capital market initiatives.
- Background in financial analysis, market intelligence, or competitive analysis.
- Experience managing corporate websites and social media channels for investor and reputation management.
