FCLTGlobal is seeking a driven, high-caliber individual to join the research team as a research director. This is an exciting opportunity to help advance the organization’s research agenda, gain access to real-world corporate and investment decision makers, and produce research products that extend the organization’s reach and help ensure its impact.
The Research Director will report to the Head of Research and will work closely with the other research team members to support the organization’s practical projects and foundational research. This Director role is fully responsible for the research activities around investor/corporate engagement, being one of FCLTGlobal’s five research levers. This lever focuses on the intersection among companies, institutional investors, and markets to drive long-term value creation, including such topics as proxy advisors, the quarterly reporting cycle, and activism.
The other research levers are governance, incentives, metrics, and the implications of policy and regulation. Most of the Director’s time will be spent on developing foundational research (whitepapers), writing commentaries on current trends, and organizing and leading research forums with FCLTGlobal’s members. This takes place in close cooperation across the organization, including with colleagues working on communications, events, member relations, and research.

As such, the successful candidate will display independence, creativity, passion, and a proactive spirit. Candidates must demonstrate comfort working through ambiguity.
Candidates should possess:
· Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, structure and execute projects, and to translate research and conceptual work into meaningful recommendations and products;
LOCATION
This is a full-time role located at FCLTGlobal’s office at 31 St. James Avenue in Boston’s Back Bay. As a hybrid role, frequently working from the Boston office is required.
COMPENSATION
Competitive non-profit compensation packages commensurate with experience are provided, including healthcare and IRA matching contributions.
